Newlyweds: The pair wed on Saturday in a West Sussex ceremony, with Richard dubbing the day 'full of love and laughter'

Richard Osman married Ingrid Oliver in a ‘magical’ ceremony on Saturday.

The Pointless star, 52, took to Instagram today to share a picture from their big day, which showed the newlyweds beaming while walking hand in hand.

Ingrid, 44 – who is best known for her role as Petronella Osgood in Doctor Who – looked sensational in her bridal gown, which featured puffball sleeves and a mermaid hemline.

Richard looked dapper by her side in a fitted navy suit with a red rose fastened on his lapel.

He shared with his followers: ‘The most magical, joyful day on Saturday with my beautiful wife. Surrounded by wonderful friends and family, a day full of love and laughter. We’re so, so happy.”

The couple reportedly tied the knot at Goodwood House, the Duke of Richmond’s West Sussex seat, known for the Glorious Goodwood horse race meeting and the annual Festival of Speed.

Last month, Richard revealed his wedding would be ‘very un-showbizzy’, stating: ‘We’re getting married in December, which is lovely and it’s going to be a very un-showbizzy wedding, just all our school friends. I can’t wait,’

The couple announced their engagement in May after two years of dating, with Richard confirming the news in an interview by stating: ‘exciting, isn’t it?!’

Ncuti Gatwa (Fifteenth Doctor) and Millie Gibson (Ruby Sunday)

Millie Gibson has landed the role of Ruby Sunday, the Doctor’s new companion. Starring alongside Ncuti Gatwa, Millie will make her debut over the festive season in 2023 when the Fifteenth Doctor takes control of the TARDIS. Recently, it was announced that the BBC and Disney Branded Television have joined forces to make Disney+ the new global home, outside of the UK and Ireland, for future seasons of Doctor Who.

Best known for her role as Coronation Street’s Kellie Neelan, 18 year old Millie was the recipient of the Best Young Performer Award at The British Soap Awards earlier this year. Millie has also appeared in dramas Butterfly (ITV) and Love, Lies and Records (BBC).

Speaking of her new role, Millie Gibson says:

“Whilst still being in total disbelief, I am beyond honoured to be cast as the Doctor’s companion. It is a gift of a role, and a dream come true, and I will do everything to try and fill the boots the fellow companions have travelled in before me. And what better way to do that than being by the fabulous Ncuti Gatwa’s side, I just can’t wait to get started.”

Ncuti Gatwa adds:

“Millie just is the companion. She is full of talent, strength, she has a cheeky sparkle in her eye and is sharp as a razor. From the moment she walked into the room she captured all of our attention with her effervescence and then solidified that attention with the sheer torque of her talent. This adventure is going to be so wild and so fun, I cannot WAIT to sail the universe with Millie!”

Russell T Davies, Showrunner, says:

“It’s the great honour of my job to find the next generation of talent, and Millie shines like a star already. She’s brilliant, dynamic, clever and a wonderful actor. As a Coronation Street fan, I’ve seen Millie survive chases, guns and sieges, but that’s nothing compared to what lies ahead for Ruby Sunday.”

‘Doctor Who is critical to the BBC’, says boss Charlotte Moore

‘Doctor Who is critical to the BBC’, says boss Charlotte Moore

Moore said “the fact that the Doctor himself regenerates is a great symbol for the whole of the BBC”.

With Jodie Whittaker having just bowed out of Doctor Who as the Thirteenth Doctor, and David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa both incoming as the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors respectively, the long-running sci-fi show is in a particularly transitional period.

Charlotte Moore: BBC’s Chief Content Officer

As the series ramps up to its whopping 60th anniversary next year, the BBC’s chief content officer Charlotte Moore has stressed the show’s ongoing importance to the broadcaster and noted how excited she is for its upcoming era.

In a wide-ranging interview with RadioTimes.com about the BBC’s centenary celebrations, Moore praised the fact the broadcaster would be airing such iconic BBC programmes as Strictly Come Dancing, Top Gear and Doctor Who, calling them “absolutely critical to the BBC”.

Moore added that she thought that Doctor Who’s “next journey” would be “incredibly exciting” as Russell T Davies takes over showrunning duties from Chris Chibnall.

Moore said: “Doctor Who is one of the most important shows that we have. We’re coming up to [its] 60th year and it’s reinvented itself every year; every series it goes on the next journey.

“It’s the most extraordinary drama franchise and global phenomenon. The fact that the Doctor himself regenerates is a great symbol for the whole of the BBC. Jodie has been such a fantastic first-ever female Doctor Who.”

She added that the series “constantly reinvents itself just like the BBC and it constantly pushes at those boundaries and is ambitious in its storytelling”.

“I’m very excited.”

This comes as the BBC recently announced a new deal with Disney Plus for the streamer to broadcast the show internationally from 2023, while the rights will remain exclusively with the BBC in the UK and Ireland.
