Fugitive Doctor and TARDIS set announced by Character Options
The enigmatic incarnation of the Doctor as first seen in FUGITIVE OF THE JUDOON gets her own figure set in an online exclusive from Character Options.
Character Options is excited and delighted to announce that, for the first time, the Fugitive Doctor will join her esteemed other incarnations with her own figure set, in this latest online exclusive Doctor Who Figure set.
Inspired by the Doctor Who episode entitled FUGITIVE OF THE JUDOON, Character Options is proud to present this figure of the mysterious Fugitive Doctor along with her very own TARDIS! Both are presented in this specially designed 60th Anniversary window packaging.
Set Contents at 5.5 Inch Scale:
1 x Fugitive Doctor Figure.
1 x Division Blaster Accessory
1 x TARDIS with opening doors
This incarnation of the Doctor is shrouded in mystery. The Thirteenth Doctor first met the Fugitive Doctor (played by Jo Martin) when she was hiding out as ‘Ruth Clayton’, a tour guide living in Gloucester. Using a Chameleon Arch, she’d re-written her DNA to appear human and buried her TARDIS below ground where it could never be found. She was hiding from her former employer, a mysterious Time Lord agency called ‘The Division’, who had hired the Judoon to track her down. With the arrival of the Judoon and Thirteenth Doctor, the Fugitive Doctor’s secret couldn’t be kept for much longer.
Ruth flees with the Thirteenth Doctor to a lighthouse she remembered as a child, but what they discover there only deepens the mystery. Sensing something familiar, the Thirteenth Doctor discovers her own TARDIS from the long past, and when Ruth breaks the fire alarm within the lighthouse it triggers a reversal of the Chameleon Arch. Instantly the Doctor once more, she teleports herself and the Thirteenth Doctor into her TARDIS and takes off to confront the ‘Division’. The Thirteenth Doctor is hugely disturbed by the fact she cannot remember being this incarnation but recognises the truth that she undeniably had been. Now free, this no longer fugitive Doctor leaves for further adventures and would go on to meet her Thirteenth self a handful of times, as a projection of the Matrix, and then again as a holograph.
The full story of the Fugitive Doctor remains undisclosed and only time will reveal the full truth… as it always does.
Al Dewar, Creative Director, commented:
“Well, it’s finally out there! And safe to say this is one of the most special Doctors I’ve ever worked on. It’s been under wraps for well over a year and a half which helped keep the secret.
Jo Martin, who was utterly delightful to work with when creating this set and we also give her rather lovely TARDIS a wee overhaul as well, with the original flat roof being replaced by a slightly angled one, with replacement lamp and nice little undercuts between the roof pillars. There is also one neat little easter egg in the pack we hope collectors enjoy. All in all, this is a truly great set.”
The set will be solely available for sale via Character Online from Monday 22nd January 2024.
The Tenth Doctor and Eighth Doctor action figures, coming soon
Character Options has announced their next batch of Doctor Who products, with four new sets going on sale in August 2022.
These action figures are available from B&M in the UK in August 2022.
Each new addition to this line forms part of the 5.5” figure range and features new decoration as well as multiple points of articulation.
Here’s what to look out for, with details behind each of them:
The Tenth Doctor Set
In this set, there are three all-new variants of the Tenth Doctor. The first figure depicted is the Tenth Doctor in his slightly brighter blue two-piece suit, pale blue shirt and burgundy tie from THE WEDDING OF SARAH JANE SMITH parts one and two. The second figure is based on this same story but sees the Doctor wearing his iconic long duster style overcoat. The final figure of the Tenth Doctor is inspired by the comic book series THE TENTH DOCTOR ADVENTURES. This figure has a particularly ‘ragged’ look, with dirtied blue shirt, tie worn askew, and lower forearms exposed.
The Eighth Doctor Set
Fans first encountered the Eighth Doctor back in 1989 after a failed mission to transport the remains of the Master back to Gallifrey. In this three-figure set, he is depicted in all his screen seen outfits from his adventures but with updated decoration.
The first figure is inspired by THE TV MOVIE, with the Eighth Doctor, in an updated version of the costume worn after he regenerated. The second figure depicts the Doctor in his dark blue leather pea coat and jeans from his audio adventures. The decoration has been revised and, for the first time, this figure also has the brown satchel. The final figure in this set is taken from THE NIGHT OF THE DOCTOR, the minisode where he sported a worn green overcoat, ruffled tie, bronze waistcoat, and US Army Cavalry boots. This outfit corresponds with his overall weary appearance during the Time War.
History of the Daleks 9 – ‘Planet of the Daleks’
This duo of Dalek figures set is based on the Third Doctor’s battle with his greatest nemesis, on the planet Spiridon. The first Dalek figure from this set is the Supreme Dalek from this story. This was a redressed ‘movie’ style prop but with some unconventional changes to its overall appearance. Nevertheless, finished in a gold and black colour scheme, and towering over the BBC props it was visually stunning and has remained a fan-favourite despite its limited screen-time. The second figure is the ‘Invisible Dalek’ from the story and is fully representative of a transparent Dalek!
History of the Daleks 10 – ‘Death to the Daleks’
The second History of the Daleks Set features two Daleks from the Third Doctor’s final encounter on-screen with these foes. The TARDIS suffers a complete energy drain and crash lands on the planet Exxilon and, for this story, a visually impressive, but sadly never seen again, silver and matt black livery was chosen to revive the ‘60s feel’ of the props. The first Dalek figure in the set is the ‘unofficial’ leader from this story, and sports orange-tinted dome lights, as well as having the special ‘machine gun’ style weapon, whereas Dalek figure two has clear dome lights and the standard exterminator gun.
Al Dewar Creative Director commented: “I think and hope the fans and collectors will really like these new sets. We have really spent time updating the look of the figures to make them different. The Eighth Doctor set, especially the TV Movie and NIGHT OF THE DOCTOR figures are a real delight and have a much more sophisticated look, befitting a modern action figure. I think they are the best yet. The Tenth Doctor sets have a very different and fresh feel and come with two never released variants. The Dalek sets not only feature new packaging, but we have finally brought to the fans the Dalek Supreme and a fully transparent Dalek from Planet of the Daleks, and the Death to the Daleks set is also very close to my heart!”
These action figures are available from B&M in the UK from August 2022.
Coming soon, the First Doctor and his villains, plus two Dalek sets of action figures!
Character Options has announced their next batch of Doctor Who products, with four new sets going on sale in August 2021.
These action figures are available from B&M in the UK from mid-August.
This exciting launch will introduce two more action figure trios plus two additional special collectors’ packs for Dalek Fans. Each and every set of this detailed series will include highly detailed 5.5 inch scale figures featuring multiple points of articulation.
The Sensorites Figure Set
This action figure set is inspired by the First Doctor story The Sensorites, first broadcast in 1964.
The Doctor and his companions land on a spaceship orbiting a distant and mysterious world, where a human crew lie frozen somewhere between life and death. The planet is the Sense-Sphere, home of the Sensorites, beings of immense intelligence and power. Unable to leave, the Doctor and his companions must deduce the Sensorites’ intentions: are they friendly, hostile, or frightened? And what is the deadly secret at the heart of the Sense-Sphere?
The set comprises of a First Doctor figure, a Sensorite Action Figure with Probe Accessory plus an alternative Sensorite ELDER Action Figure with Probe Accessory.
The Keys of Marinus Set
This set is inspired by another classic First Doctor story, The Keys of Marinus, first broadcast in 1964.
On a remote island of glass surrounded by a sea of acid, there is a machine that can remove evil from the minds of an entire population — the Conscience of Marinus. Fearful of its immense power falling into the wrong hands, its sole guardian has scattered the machine’s operating keys across the planet. The TARDIS crew arrives to find the island under attack by the evil Voord. Marinus’ last line of defense — and its only hope — is the Conscience machine. The Doctor and his companions must undertake a deadly quest to recover the keys of Marinus…
The figures in this set include an Ian Chesterton action figure, accompanied by not one but two Voord Warriors with a dagger accessory.
The Power of The Daleks Set
Inspired by the Second Doctor’s story, The Power of the Daleks, first broadcast in 1966.
The newly regenerated Time Lord and his companions, Polly and Ben, do battle with an old foe on the mysterious planet Vulcan. How will Polly and Ben cope with a new Doctor? How will the Doctor take to his new body? And how will they ever overcome the power of the Daleks?
This is the first in two History Daleks set, comprising of two highly detailed Daleks – the Silver Drone Dalek and Drone with Mutant Scoop Dalek.
The Day of the Daleks Set
The Third Doctor’s classic story, Day of the Daleks, first broadcast in 1972, is also getting the action figure treatment.
On Earth in the 22nd century, Daleks have enslaved the planet and humans live in fear of their masters. Meanwhile, back in the 20th century, a peace conference is urgently needed to prevent World War Three. When reports reach UNIT of a ghost at Auderly House — the site for the conference — the Doctor and Jo decide to investigate. Danger is waiting for them there, including a trip two hundred years into the future without the TARDIS…
This action figure set includes the Gold Supreme Dalek and Grey drone Dalek.
Al Dewar Character Options’ Creative Director said:
“Once again we are delighted to be working with B and M in bringing a fresh new collection to the legions of fans. This substantial line up represents some of the finest early Doctor Who episodes and will be familiar to many from diehard fans to adults that spent their child hoods hiding behind the sofa on Saturdays at teatime!”
These action figures are available from B&M in the UK from mid-August 2021.
Coming soon, the Second Doctor and TARDIS action figures!
Character Options have announced a brand new Doctor Who set, available exclusively to pre-order online on their website.
Oh my giddy Aunt!
This set celebrates one of the most iconic, and now sadly lost, adventures of Patrick Troughton’s tenure as the Second Doctor – The Abominable Snowmen. The set includes an electronic classic TARDIS and a Second Doctor figure.
The electronic classic TARDIS, featured by Character Options for the first time in over a decade, comes with different take-off and landing sounds. The TARDIS also features the more heavily weathered exterior and new colour plus the unique reversed front doors.
The new Second Doctor figure is a truly unique release, featuring the usual highly decorated look combined with full articulation on the arms.
The Abominable Snowman, first aired on 30th September 1967, sees fans join the newly regenerated Second Doctor in his eighth story. Set in 1935, the TARDIS has materialised high in in the Himalayas where The Doctor is trying to return a relic, a holy bell, borrowed several hundred years earlier, to the High Lama of the local Monastery. Unbeknownst to the Doctor and his companions, things have taken a dark turn and the monastery has been infiltrated by an ancient and evil alien entity known only as The Great Intelligence. The alien is using robot versions of the Yetis, better known as ‘the Abominable Snowmen’ a usually passive creature, to attack anyone coming near the monastery. As the Doctor becomes involved, and the full horror of what’s going on becomes clear, he vows to thwart its plans.
Perfect for all Doctor Who fans and collectors, the set comes beautifully presented in special presentation pack with diorama insert and Doctor Who heritage packaging.
Al Dewar, Character Options’ Creative Director, said.
“The Abominable Snowmen is, much like the ‘Jungles of Mechanus’ collectors’ set before it, quite unusual and features a lot of quite unique features in terms of its production. For instance the TARDIS itself is unusual in its weathered appearance, with the exterior paint covering the top signs and the colour appearing slightly more indigo than usual. Its look is generally more beaten up and scruffy than fans would usually see and features fully reversed front doors with the phone cubby box sign on right hand door with no handles. The Doctor’s look in this story echoes that of the TARDIS, with the addition of a huge shaggy fur coat held together with twine.
This Second Doctor set is available to pre-order online on the Character Options website.

Al Dewar, Character Options’ Creative Director, said.
“We were determined to give the fans something exciting and again hopefully we have genuinely surprised them with the new additions that have been coupled with some of our previous released figures. The inclusion of a new Fourth Doctor, Sarah and Romana 1 will hopefully surprise everyone in what is an astounding number of new figures this year and hopefully we will continue to exceed the expectations of fans and collectors alike.”
Character Options have announced an exclusive new Dalek set, featuring the Daleks from the 1965 First Doctor adventure, The Chase
Way back in 1965, a six-part First Doctor story entitled The Chase became famous in the eyes of Doctor Who fans for being special in many ways. It featured some unique guest Daleks seen in Episode Three and Five. In creating this exclusive ‘Jungles of Mechanus’ set, the team at Character have followed up on their original Daleks release for The Chase with something unique to delight, fans and collectors and to pay homage to the unique Daleks seen onscreen.
Al Dewar, Character Options’ Head of Product Development, went on to explain why these Daleks are a special collectible for Doctor Who fans:
“Firstly it’s the final adventure for the last of the original TARDIS companions, Ian and Barbara, but it also features the first and last appearance of a race of robotic creatures the Mechanoids.
“Dalek aficionados will also know that it marks the appearance of some rather special guest Dalek props that were seen in Episodes 3 and 5. At the time of filming the BBC were short of Dalek props having only three left. New Daleks were commissioned, but to fill the gap, they hired three Dalek props from the ‘Doctor Who and The Daleks’ movie.”
The ‘Jungles of Mechanus’ Dalek set are two unaltered props glimpsed several times as part of the Dalek patrols pursuing the TARDIS crew through the Jungle. With their distinctively different light covers and skirt bases along with unique metallic colours, this set brings the fans and collectors a one-off unique TV Dalek Action Figure never produced before.
The initial release will have just 5000 sets available marking its ultimate collectability.
The ‘Jungles of Mechanus Set’ is available for pre-order now from the Character Options website for a limited run.
