SPEND A DAY WITH TORCHWOOD’S IANTO JONES
Actor Gareth David-Lloyd who played Ianto Jones will be meeting fans at the Gate Arts Centre in Cardiff in May.
He gained a cult following after playing Ianto Jones in Torchwood and Doctor Who and now fans can get to meet the actor who played him.
Gareth David-Lloyd starred in three series of the BBC Wales Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood as well as appearing in the finale episodes pf Doctor Who series 4 finale – The Stolen Earth and Journey’s End.
So popular was his character Ianto that following his shock death a shrine was made in front of the fictional Torchwood HQ in Cardiff Bay, which still stands today and is a popular tourist attraction.
David-Lloyd will be at the Gate Arts Centre in Cardiff on Saturday, May 7 from 11am for a one-day Doctor Who themed charity event, with all proceeds being donated to the venue.
There’ll be an interview, question and answer session, a charity raffle and autographs, along with a number of special surprises planned.There will also been a display of original costumes from the show provided by Made In Wales Exhibition, as well as a stall from the local sci-fi shop The Comic Guru.
