DOCTOR WHO stars Pearl Mackie and Peter Capaldi have been spotted with beaming smiles as they continue filming for the show’s upcoming series.

The pair have been in Spain shooting scenes for the tenth post-revival run, and are reportedly now in the midst of putting together the second episode.

Peal, a previously unknown stage actress making her debut as new companion Bill, is seen in the shot wearing a multi-coloured vest top and a bow in her hair, with a jacket tied around her waist and a guitar-shaped necklace on.

Peter, meanwhile, also looks to be having a great time as he flashes a rare toothy grin while Pearl takes a selfie.

The pair were filming in Valencia at the City of Arts and Science Museum, although precise plot details have been kept quiet for now.

Matt Lucas is back in the cast for the new series, although it’s not known if he too was on-location for this particular episode.

“Originally I was just in the Christmas special but now I find myself returning for more adventures,” he said in a behind-the-scenes clip last month.

Steven Moffat, who will make his exit as lead writer and executive producer at the end of series 10, said at the time of the re-casting: “Delighted and slightly amazed to be welcoming Matt Lucas back on to the Tardis — and this time it’s not just for Christmas, he’s sticking around.

“One of the greatest comedy talents on Planet Earth is being unleashed on all of time and space.”
