Doctor Who series 9 is getting a prequel – and here’s your first look.

‘The Doctor’s Meditation’ will premiere next month, as part of the US screenings of ‘Dark Water’ and ”Death in Heaven’ in 3D.

Scheduled for September 15-16 at cinemas across the US, the screenings will feature appearances from Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, with a panel hosted by Wil Wheaton.
The BBC is yet to announce if ‘The Doctor’s Meditation’ will be screened to fans outside of the US, or if it will be released online.

The prequel is set shortly before the events of series 9’s premiere ‘The Magician’s Apprentice’ – but its exact plot and setting remains a secret.
This much we do know – ‘The Magician’s Apprentice’ features the return of Michelle Gomez as Missy and will air on BBC One on Saturday, September 19.
