Fans are VERY excited to see who will replace Peter Capaldi as The Doctor
The wait is almost over. The BBC has announced that the new lead of Doctor Who will be revealed tomorrow afternoon.
Through a short filmed plastered with the number 13 (as the new actor will be the drama’s 13th regular Doctor), the show announced the big unveiling would take place after the Wimbledon Men’s final, which starts at 2pm Sunday on BBC1 and will probably last between 2 and 3 hours.

And with just a day to go until we find out which actor is replacing Peter Capaldi, the Whoniverse is in meltdown with excitement.

However, the announcement caused havoc among hardy Whovians, with many arguing the new Doctor wouldn’t be the 13th. Remember, some count John Hurt’s War Doctor as the 9th version of the Time Lord and David Tennant as both the 11th and 12th Doctor (he regenerated into himself during the events of Journey’s End). That means the new Doctor would be the 15th incarnation.
*does nerd voice, pushes up glasses* Erm, I think you mean the FIFTEENTH. https://t.co/mEf6jUBw1r

But Matt Smith is the 13th Doctor.
*pushes glasses up nose*
See, John Hurt is 9, Eccleston is 10, Tennant is 11 & 12… https://t.co/3tXSRbeeVZ— ß¡|| Evenson (@BillEvenson) July 14, 2017
But technicalities aside, many see the timing of the announcement a strong clue who’s the next Time Lord in-waiting…

I've heard a few decent names attached to the role but I'm hoping Kris Marshall lands the job. Think he would be outstanding! #DoctorWho

After all, tomorrow we’ll have a new star wielding the sonic screwdriver and piloting the Tardis to even more adventures. And that can only be a good thing.
