DOCTOR WHO: THE COMPLETE HISTORY (STORIES 181-184)

Our good friends at Hachette Partworks Limited today gave The Gallifreyan Newsroom a look at the first in their series of books entitled “Doctor Who – The Complete History”.

This partwork is a collaboration with Panini, the same good people who bring us Doctor Who Magazine each month.  Published every fortnight, it will build into a comprehensive library of every Doctor Who story broadcasted by BBC television from its very beginnings in 1963.  The publications themselves are beautifully presented hard backed books packed with production stills and a wealth of information on the stories featured, in fact everything you could want to know about the production, broadcast and publicity for each story.

Have you ever wanted to know the full cast list of your favourite Dr Who story, or perhaps what the ratings were on a particular episode? then “Doctor Who – The Complete History” is the book series you have been waiting for.  Being a long time Doctor Who collector, I particularly like the links to the various pieces of merchandise that are proper to the stories, whether that be a Radio Times cover, boxed toy or, of course, a DVD, its all here.

The first volume (pictured) is published today, 9th September 2015 and focuses on five stories from the David Tennent era, namely Gridlock, Daleks In Manhattan,Evolution of the Daleks, The Lazarus Experiment and 42, all of which formed part of series 3 (2007) it costs £1.99 issue 2 will be £6.99 and £9.99 thereafter.  There are also some very nice free gifts too only available to subscribers such as Dr Who Travel Mugs and Doctor Who Wallets.

In book 2 of the series, stories covered will be: Colony In Space (1971), The Deamons (1971) and Day of the Daleks (1972) from the Jon Pertwee era, with book 3 focusing on: Deep Breath (2014) and Into The Dalek (2014) from the first Peter Capaldi season.

The Gallifreyan Newsroom heartily recommends this partwork, its’ wealth of information and attention to detail make it essential reading for young and older fans alike.  To subscribe please follow this link or call 0333 300 1510 or from ROI 0333 300 1511.
