Doctor Who movies coming to BritBox this month!
BritBox has revealed a host of new content that will be joining the streaming service in the UK this month, including two classic Doctor Who films.
The latest selection of shows and movies will be joining the cult-themed Out of this World collection, which already includes some iconic series such as Thunderbirds and Space: 1999.
From September 10, subscribers will be able to watch 1965’s Doctor Who and the Daleks, the first big screen spin-off of the television series featuring The Doctor’s ultimate enemy.
In a slightly different take on the beloved franchise, this film portrays Peter Cushing’s Doctor as an eccentric inventor from Earth who, when showing off his TARDIS to his granddaughters and one of their boyfriends, somehow manages to whisk them away to the planet Skaro, the home of the Daleks.
Also joining BritBox is Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 AD, Cushing’s second feature-length outing as The Doctor. This time, in the distant future, he leads a human rebellion against the evil, encased aliens, who have claimed the planet for themselves.
Both of these movies will be available on the streaming service from September 10, as will all 52 episodes of cult British sci-fi show Blake’s 7. From this date, you’ll also be able to stream a selection of episodes from the classic agent-thriller series The Avengers.
Fantasy-adventure movie One Million Years BC will also be available, as will the sci-fi horror Quatermass and the Pit and the David Bowie sci-fi drama The Man Who Fell to Earth.
From September 17, all three series of Terry Nation’s science fiction drama Survivors will also be available to stream.
