DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL IS COMING TO US CINEMAS
but no word on the UK yet…
Here’s your chance to see River Song on the big screen.
Doctor Who’s 2015 Christmas special will be beamed into US cinemas next month – but there’s no word on the UK yet.
BBC Worldwide North America and Fathom Events are teaming to bring this year’s festive episode to nearly 300 screens over two nights on December 28 and 29 at 7.30pm local time.
Each screening will also include a 15-minute behind-the-scenes featurette and an interview with Alex Kingston, who is returning as The Doctor’s wife Professor River Song.
A description for the Christmas special is as follows: “It’s Christmas Day in the future and the TARDIS is parked on a snowy village street, covered in icicles, awaiting its next adventure.”Time traveler River Song meets her husband’s new incarnation, in the form of Peter Capaldi, for the first time this Christmas.”
Tickets can be purchased for these screenings through Fathom, beginning on Friday (November 13) – again, only in the US.
Doctor Who’s Christmas episode will mark the first on-screen appearance for Professor Song since 2013’s series ender ‘The Name of the Doctor’.
Earlier this year, Alex Kingston signed up to reprise the River Song character further in Big Finish audio plays that pair her with Eighth Doctor actor Paul McGann.
No air date has yet been set for Doctor Who’s Christmas special in the UK. BBC America airs the special on Christmas Day.
