Did you spot the Doctor Who music used at the end of The Apprentice?

Did you spot the Doctor Who music used at the end of The Apprentice?

If you were hit by sudden mental images of Peter Capaldi while watching The Apprentice: The Final Five, don’t worry. You were probably bamboozled by the Doctor Who music hidden in the soundtrack. As the music swelled at 56.30 for “next time on The Apprentice”, and as the remaining contestants competed to explain how badly they wanted to be Lord Sugar’s business partner (“My GOD I want it so bad” – Frances), a familiar tune kicked in. Wondering why our Doctor…

A ‘Doctor Who’ wedding for Raleigh couple, complete with TARDIS – Shaffer

A ‘Doctor Who’ wedding for Raleigh couple, complete with TARDIS – Shaffer

Over the last month, a tall, blue curiosity slowly took shape in Michael Thompson’s carport: a plywood box that looked like a telephone booth to the inexpert eye but which any sci-fi fan instantly recognized as a TARDIS, the space- and time-traveling ship immortalized by “Doctor Who.” Building an 8-foot prop might seem extreme even for Thompson, 37, whose enthusiasm for the Doctor runs so high that he once made his own Time Lord collar – an elaborate costume piece…

DVD subtitle error has Peter Capaldi saying ‘Oh sh*t’

DVD subtitle error has Peter Capaldi saying ‘Oh sh*t’

A mistake in Doctor Who‘s DVD subtitles has Peter Capaldi’s Doctor resembling his The Thick of It character Malcolm Tucker even more than usual. The error on the Region 1 DVD box set for the first half of last year’s Season 9 features on ‘The Woman Who Lived’. Rather brilliantly, the Doctor’s sweary reaction fits the scene absolutely perfectly. When Ashildr (Maisie Williams) and Leandro (Ariyon Bakare) inform the Doctor that the amulet requires a death, he responds simply: “Oh shit.” The new season of Doctor Who is…

A Doctor Who Themed Wedding On Tonights The One Show

A Doctor Who Themed Wedding On Tonights The One Show

The BBC’s “The One Show” tonight (22.09.16) ran a feature looking at “original” ways to tie the knot.  Included in this jolly piece were Mr and Mrs Paul Seymour, who renewed their wedding vows 30 years on with a Doctor Who themed ceremony, complete with a Dalek as the ring bearer. In time honored fashion the Dalek did have a few problems negotiating the aisle due to a carpet and needed a bit of a push to make it to the altar on time! You may…

A TARDIS coffin anyone?

A TARDIS coffin anyone?

A TARDIS coffin is among a series of unusual requests received by Central England Co-operative’s Funeralcare. The Co-operative Society has experienced a surge in demand for out of the ordinary send offs as more people look to have a greater say on planning and personalising their own funerals. This shift towards personalisation has coincided with a rise in people opting to sign up to pre-paid funeral plans or to fill out a funeral wishes form to ensure they get the…

DOCTOR Loo

DOCTOR Loo

A SCI-FI fanatic has created a Tardis-inspired toilet in his back garden, which tweets hundreds of people every time he spends a penny. The life-sized TARDIS has been fitted with flashing LED lights, motion sensors and a even a WiFi hotspot and USB ports for those longer loo trips. Unlike its Doctor Who name-sake, the trendy toilet is no bigger on the inside, but it does have a fully functioning bog and sink crammed in. The futuristic loo was designed by app builder…

Peter Capaldi climbing inside fan’s mini TARDIS is adorable

Peter Capaldi climbing inside fan’s mini TARDIS is adorable

Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi was so impressed with a young fan’s TARDIS earlier this week that he climbed inside to pose for a photo. Perhaps unintentionally recreating a scene from 2014’s ‘Flatline’ episode, the actor enthusiastically squeezed into the wardrobe, which he described as “brilliant”. Capaldi also took the time to sign the TARDIS door for the fan. He joked: “There’s moths in here! And old socks!” https://twitter.com/GeorgeBaker26/status/764407724067217408?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

Apparently this Doctor Who location is seriously good for Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go doesn’t really need to be any more popular. There’s many (many, many, many) a person out there hunting Pokémon. But Patrick Ness, author and showrunner on Doctor Who spin-off Class, might just have found a way to take your Pokedex to a whole new level – thanks to a certain Time Lord. How? Well, he claims that Cardiff Bay is actually a ruddy good place for a spot of Pokemon catching. “Heavy” in fact is his word of choice….

Doctor Who Bollywood style is brilliantly bizarre

Doctor Who Bollywood style is brilliantly bizarre

You’ve seen him outsmarting dinosaurs on spaceship. You’ve even seen him bust into to Gallifrey with an electric guitar. But you haven’t enjoyed an episode where the Doctor stabs a deer dressed as a bee over a sitar soundtrack. Until now. It’s all thanks to Doctor Who: The Bollywood version, your new favourite video on the net. Why? It’s got the classic elements of every episode (The TARDIS, the assistant and the Doctor himself), but they’re combined with the costumes,…
