BREAKING NEWS. GNR has been informed that Doctor Who star William Russell, who played one of the show’s first companions in 1963 and recently reprised the role for a cameo in 2022, has died aged 99. William Russell Enoch was born on 19 November 1924 in Sunderland, County Durham, to Eva Compston (née Pile) and Alfred James Enoch.
