A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The clock has stuck midnight and 2016 has now officially arrived in the UK!
Another year has come and gone, and 2015 saw more changes to Doctor Who. Peter Capaldi completed his second series as the Doctor with aplomb, further cementing his take on the role in a series that experimented with the show format. But more noteworthy was the exit of another companion, as we bid a tearful farewell to Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald. Twice!
The year ahead is, unfortunately, marked with uncertainty when it comes to the main show. We only know for sure that the Doctor Who team, led by Steven Moffat once again, will be producing 13 more episodes. There has still been no confirmation on when fans will actually get to see Series 10 on the airwaves. The exact start date for filming is also unknown, although signs point to several months into the year this time around. Peter Capaldi will at least be returning, joined by a new, yet-to-be-announced companion.
Fans can also look forward to a new spin-off in the form of Class (set to air later in 2016) and Big Finish’s new series range, including the return of the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble.
