We already miss Jenna Coleman’s Doctor Who companion Clara, and we haven’t even had a proper episode without her yet.

BUT we’re also very excited to welcome Pearl Mackie’s Bill to the fold next year as Peter Capaldi’s latest sidekick. And Jenna gave her some words of advice – thought mainly just where to get the best food nearby.

“I can’t remember what I said on her card, but I think it was something like a couple of jokes about Peter,”

“And then where to eat in Cardiff, because that’s the advice Karen [Gillan] passed on to me.

“So you know, the really important and valuable stuff! And just, ‘Enjoy it, grab it, because it’s such an amazing adventure’.”

Pearl Mackie will debut in Doctor Who’s 10th series in 2017, following on from this year’s Christmas special.

Former Doctor Matt Smith recently made the admission that he wishes he got to work more with Coleman on the sci-fi, and called his decision not to stay any longer “one of [his] great regrets”.

Smith’s Eleventh Doctor shared just 12 episodes with Clara, while Capaldi’s incarnation of the Time Lord enjoyed 25 episodes alongside Coleman’s character.
