Happy 10th Birthday: 21st Century Doctor Who
On this day, March 26th 2005, Doctor Who made it’s triumphant return to the BBC for it’s first full series since December 1989.
Since then, our beloved series has gone from strength to strength, broadcasting an amazing 115 episodes (to date) plus many spin offs, including Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Right from it’s rebirth in 2005 Doctor Who was a massive hit, winning many awards including a staggering sixteen National Television Awards.
So, at 7.00pm (GMT) today, why not raise a glass to our favourite time lord and to paraphrase the Doctor himself, “it’s been the trip of a lifetime”.
As a tribute to the 10th anniversary, at 7.32pm (GMT) Doctor Who was trending on Twitter with over 7000 tweets in the UK.
