Doctor Who Corgi collection

Luxury brand Corgi and BBC Studios have today launched the range of Doctor Who knitwear worn by Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor in the latest series of the BBC show.

The range was designed by Costume Designer Ray Holman for the Thirteenth Doctor’s costume and is now available to fans across the world for the first time.

Ray Holman, Costume Designer, said:

“I chose to work with Corgi after visiting the factory and seeing the high-quality materials they use and the beautiful products they create. As a small company in the heart of Wales the craft of knitting is still very much alive and we were able to use these skills in the creation of the jumpers, socks and scarves for this range. It has been a pleasure to work with Corgi and create such a wonderful range of garments for the Doctor.”

Corgi’s Doctor Who range will include 100% cashmere socks, wool socks, a cashmere scarf, a wool scarf and a hand-made cashmere and cotton blend jumper. All the luxury yarns are sourced from the very best suppliers in the UK who use yarns from sustainable sources. The knitwear is made using traditional hand-knitting techniques and hand finished to the very highest standard. All the products are made in the UK at Corgi’s factory in Ammanford, Wales.

Chris Jones at Corgi, said:

“We’re very excited to be working with BBC Studios on a product range for Doctor Who. Working with the creative team, we have produced a beautiful line of distinctive knitwear and socks that deliver both style and high quality that we hope fans will love!”

The launch coincides with a Royal visit at the Corgi factory in Wales, with Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal arriving to meet staff in her capacity as President of the UK Fashion & Textile Association. Princess Anne was shown the new Doctor Who range as part of this visit and presented with a cashmere Doctor Who scarf as a gift.

Segun Akinola - Doctor Who - Series 12 (Original Television Soundtrack)

Segun Akinola – Doctor Who – Series 12 (Original Television Soundtrack)

Doctor Who returned on New Year’s Day with a thrilling new series full of scares and surprises. Building on the character themes and dramatic musical landscapes created for Jodie Whittaker’s first series as the Thirteenth Doctor, composer Segun Akinola has created a mesmerizing and diverse collection of scores for the new adventures.

This two-volume collection showcases new themes for the Master and the Cyberman and celebrates the epic, action-packed storytelling in Series 12.

Segun Akinola is an alumnus of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and part of 2017’s BAFTA Breakthrough Brit programme.

Segun Akinola, Composer, said:

“From the experimental sounds of ‘Orphan 55’ to the emotional rollercoaster of ‘The Timeless Children’, it’s been a complete joy working on the music for Series 12 and I hope that whilst listening to this album, fans can relive all their favourite moments.”

Chris Chibnall, Showrunner, said:

“Segun’s music is a key component of the Thirteenth Doctor’s era – his extraordinarily eclectic, bold and emotional scores for the series are part of Doctor Who’s identity. From lush orchestral spy movie arrangements to experimental soundscapes, this collection showcases the range, ambition, precision and brilliance of Segun as a composer – and demonstrates how lucky Doctor Who is to have a composer of Segun’s calibre providing dynamic and fresh new scores every episode. No Doctor Who fan should be without it, and no lover of contemporary film scores should miss it.“
