Fifty years ago, on Saturday 22 October 1966, the Radio Times photographer went on set to shoot Patrick Troughton’s debut as the second Doctor. You need to keep your antennae whirring during Class. The brand-new BBC3 offshoot from Doctor Who (episodes one and two go online today) makes lots of crafty little references to the daddy show. Yes, it’s set in Coal Hill, the London school featured in Who on and off since the very beginning in 1963. And of course it gets a Doctorly seal of approval from Peter Capaldi.
