MAISIE WILLIAMS IS RETURNING TO DOCTOR WHO IN EPISODE 10

Doctor Who S09E05: 'The Girl Who Died'

Writer Sarah Dollard confirms Game of Thrones star’s return.

Maisie Williams will make a third appearance in Doctor Who series nine.
Writer Sarah Dollard has confirmed that the Game of Thrones star will appear in Dollard’s episode ‘Face The Raven’.

‘Face The Raven’ is the tenth episode of series nine. It will also feature the return of graffiti artist Rigsy and will be directed by Justin Molotnikov.

Dollard commented on her Twitter that Williams’ return has been “really difficult not to tell everyone”.
She was speaking at the MCM London Comic Con earlier as part of a panel with Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and Rachel Talalay, who will be directing the series nine double-bill finale.
Moffat has insisted, though, that Williams is not the new companion.

In the show, Williams plays Viking girl Ashildr and viewers saw her make her second appearance on last night’s episode ‘The Woman Who Lived’.
Her character was made immortal in ‘The Girl Who Died’.

Earlier this week, Williams had hinted at a return for her character later in the series.
“I’m hoping she comes back,” she said. “Everyone’s been asking if she comes back. I hope so, but I have no idea.
“I know they’ve had characters similar to Ashildr that have returned in future episodes and series, so we’ll see. I think there’s a good chance!”

IS THIS THE DOCTOR’S NEW SONIC SCREWDRIVER?

IS THIS THE DOCTOR’S NEW SONIC SCREWDRIVER?

Is this the Doctor's new Sonic Screwdriver?

Are those sunglasses actually Sonic? And if not could this new retro device from the upcoming episode be a hastily cobbled together new ‘Screwdriver’…?

There’s been no sign of the Sonic Screwdriver since the Doctor chucked it to the young Davros on a Skaro battlefield (and possibly set off a chain of events that led to the creation of the Daleks and the destruction of half the galaxy in the Time War. But everyone makes mistakes).

Since then, the Doctor’s been enjoying his new “wearable tech”, the Sonic Sunglasses – even if Doctor Who fans haven’t necessarily felt the same way. There were cheers from many when they got snapped in half by fake Odin in The Girl Who Died and no doubt there will be boos when viewers see the Doctor wearing his shades again in Saturday’s episode The Woman Who Lived.
But are those actually Sonic sunglasses he’s wearing indoors in the shot above? Maybe they’re simply a fashion statement from the rock ‘n’ roll Doctor. And if so, could the intriguing gadget below be his latest attempt at a Sonic, perhaps hurriedly cobbled together, hence the less than slimline design…?

The device, featuring what looks like a triple array of lenses along with various levers and flashing lights, appears in new pictures from this Saturday’s episode and we quite like its chunky, kind of steampunk look – even if it would most definitely spoil the line of the Doctor’s jacket…

Doctor Who: The Woman Who Lived is on Saturday 24th October at 8:20pm on BBC1

MAGICIAN CREATES INCREDIBLE BALLOON ART OF THE DOCTOR AND HIS TARDIS

Magician creates incredible balloon art of the Doctor and his Tardis

Magician Rob Driscoll has twisted The Tardis and Time Lords into new dimensions…

With all the artistic achievements of mankind, sometimes it’s hard to imagine being truly impressed by anything new. But these balloon creations by Rob Driscoll are quite something.
The magician set himself a challenge to make a different balloon model every day for at least a year. He started twisting balloons on a daily basis on 1st January 2013 and is still going, posting all his art at My Daily Balloon.
Here are his Doctor Who creations…

1ST AND 2ND DOCTORS, WILLIAM HARTNELL AND PATRICK TROUGHTON

Rob says, “they are in Black and white because that was how they always were seen, in black and white. William Hartnell on the left had his white hair and his little black hat, Patrick on the right has his trademark flute and his black mop of hair, they both have rather cool check trousers.”

3RD DOCTOR, JON PERTWEE

Rob says, “I have not seen too much of this Doctor in action but I think he is very flamboyant, I imagine a scientific Liberace, To make him look right I gave him those trademark frills, his big nose and his white curly hair

4TH DOCTOR, TOM BAKER

Rob says, “here he is with his distinctive scarf, curly hair, his hat and yes, that is a jelly baby he is holding.”

5TH DOCTOR, PETER DAVISON

He’s in his cricket gear with his cricket bat over his shoulder. Rob says, “This Doctor took about 20 balloons to make”.

THE DOCTOR HAS A NEW MYSTERY GIRL (BUT EVEN WITH THE MASK YOU’LL RECOGNISE HER)

Maisie Williams, 18, swaps swords for pistols to appear as a masked bandit in the BBC sci-fi classic

She may be wearing a mask but the mystery woman posing with Doctor Who won’t fool Game of Thrones fans – they’ll recognise her as Arya Stark.
Maisie Williams, 18, swaps swords for pistols to appear as a masked bandit in the BBC sci-fi classic.

It will be Maisie’s second appearance in Doctor Who and she teams up with Peter Capaldi to hunt for a mysterious purple jewel.

She will star in The Woman Who Lived.
A masked Maisie can be heard saying in the short clip: “Could it be we are looking for the same prize?”

It’s an action-packed trailer which sees the two fighting against common enemies and trying to escape trouble.
For months there has been mounting speculation about the identity of Maisie’s character and it was finally revealed.

After making her debut in Saturday’s Doctor Who episode The Girl Who Died, the 18-year-old plays the Viking Ashildr.
Maisie said about her Doctor Who role: “It’s quite daunting to be a part of such an iconic series, but everyone was so lovely and they are such a great team, I slotted in straight away.

“I can’t wait to see what the fans think of it.”
Peter Capaldi, who plays the Doctor, described her cameo on the show as “cosmic”.

TOM RILEY WOULD LOVE DOCTOR WHO RETURN AS ROBIN HOOD: “I’D DO IT AGAIN IN A MINUTE”

TOM RILEY WOULD LOVE DOCTOR WHO RETURN AS ROBIN HOOD: “I’D DO IT AGAIN IN A MINUTE”

Doctor Who, 'Robot of Sherwood'

“I don’t know how he’d fit into all of space and time.”

Tom Riley has admitted he would love to reprise Robin Hood in a new episode of Doctor Who.

The Da Vinci’s Demons star played the mythic hero in last year’s ‘Robot of Sherwood’ and told Digital Spy that he would “do it again in a minute”.
“I know with Matt Smith, they would bring back ‘all the gang’ – Jenny (Catrin Stewart) and Strax (Dan Starkey) and all that lot would reappear in his finales,” Riley said. “So I’m not against the idea.

“It’s tough, because the character is so out there that I don’t quite know how he’d fit into all of space and time. But I would do it in an instant.”

Riley described his co-star Peter Capaldi as an “incredible Doctor” – having worked with the actor on one of his earliest outings as the Time Lord.
“It was great to bounce off him and watch him work out who his Doctor was as he was going along,” Riley said. “It was an incredible few weeks. I loved it.”

It sounds like Riley ‘sherwood’ love to make a Doctor Who comeback – how about it, Moffat?

Doctor Who continues this Saturday (October 24) at 8.20pm on BBC One, with ‘The Woman Who Lived’.

MAISIE WILLIAMS: ‘THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE I’LL BE BACK ON DOCTOR WHO’

MAISIE WILLIAMS: ‘THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE I’LL BE BACK ON DOCTOR WHO’

Doctor Who episode 9.6, 'The Woman Who Lived'

Viking girl Ashildr could resurface later this series.

Maisie Williams has hinted that her Doctor Who character Ashildr may recur on the series.

The Game of Thrones star debuted as the Viking girl – made immortal by the Doctor – in Saturday’s episode, ‘The Girl Who Died’, and will return in this week’s ‘The Woman Who Lived’.
The 18-year-old said that there is “a good chance” viewers will see Ashildr again in later episodes.

“I’m hoping she comes back,” Williams said. “Everyone’s been asking if she comes back. I hope so, but I have no idea.
“I know they’ve had characters similar to Ashildr that have returned in future episodes and series, so we’ll see. I think there’s a good chance!”

‘The Woman Who Lived’ picks up with Ashildr hundreds of years after ‘The Girl Who Died’, and is set in England, 1651, where a deadly and elusive highwayman is running riot.
“In episode 6, we meet my character again,” said Williams. “This time it’s years and years in the future for her story – but still years in the past for modern day people.

“She has witnessed so much and lost so much and been through so much trauma that it has really changed her as a person. She comes off as very bitter at the start until a few scenes in when we realise how much she’s lost. It’s a wonderful episode and I’m so thrilled to have played both sides of her character.”

‘The Woman Who Lived’ – from Torchwood writer Catherine Tregenna – airs this Saturday (October 24) at 8.20pm on BBC One.

FAYE MARSAY POISED ‘FOR NEXT DOCTOR WHO COMPANION ROLE’ FOLLOWING JENNA COLEMAN’S EXIT

Faye Marsay is currently favourite to take on the role next year, according to a report.

Faye Marsay is set for a role in Doctor Who, according to a report.
Last month Jenna Coleman confirmed she quit the BBC One series as she teased an “emotional” goodbye to the TARDIS .
Since then everyone has been linked with the role as a companion for Peter Capaldi.

The latest is the Fresh Meat, The White Queen and Game of Thrones star.
Faye plays Waif in the hit HBO series.

The 28-year-old actress is a hot favourite, according to the Daily Star.
Ladbrokes have given her odds of 6/1 to play the role.
Faye is already BBC viewer friendly

The actress has already appeared in Doctor Who, she is also shooting a new programme that is about to go into post-production.
She tweeted: “Just about to go into our final week of shooting ‘Love, Nina’ for @BBCOne. What an adventure it’s been!”Meanwhile, Mark Gatiss has revealed that Coleman’s replacement on Doctor Who could be played by a man.

The 48-year-old writer thinks it would be “very interesting” for the Doctor, currently played by Peter Capaldi, to have “a male companion” once the 29-year-old actress, who plays Clara Oswald, leaves the sci-fi series after its current season.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the Attitude Awards in London, he said: “I’ve always been a fan of the boy/girl partnership from way back when.

“It would be very interesting if the Doctor had a male companion… but then it would be a very male show.”Mark thinks Peter, 57, who succeeded Matt Smith in the role in 2013, has really “grown into” the part.
He added: “I love the way people have responded to this series, and I love the two-parters as well.”
